Keystone PVA celebrates Paralyzed Veterans Awareness Week
Keystone PVA celebrated Paralyzed Veterans Awareness Week (13 - 19 April) in various places around Pennsylvania. The photo at left was taken at the third annual Open House held at the chapter offices in Sharpsburg. President Fred Tregaskes is shown presenting a commemorative photo plaque to Debbie Lawson, whose family and friends made generous donations to Keystone PVA at Rick Lawson's birthday party in February. (Also in the photo are Debbie's parents, Maggie and Jack Eckenrode, and several grandchildren.) During the week, National Service Officer Dave Parkinson and his staff assistant, Darlene Mead, set up a PVA/Keystone PVA exhibit in the lobby of the City-County Building in Downtown Pittsburgh. At the Lebanon VAMC, members Chris Fidler and Bruce Shaffer set up an information table three days of the week. The activity resulted in greater awareness, some new ideas, a few donations, and some new members!
